Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how HexFlip ("the Game", "we", "us") handles information when you play the HexFlip mobile or web game. We try to collect as little personal data as possible. By using HexFlip you agree to the practices described below.

1. Who we are

HexFlip is an independent puzzle game. For privacy questions or data requests you can reach us at rick.van.rooijen1993@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

HexFlip can be played as a guest without providing any personal information. Depending on which features you use, the following data may be processed:

• Guest account data — a randomly generated player ID, your chosen display name, and your in-game progress (campaign progress, daily puzzles, achievements, currencies, settings).
• Google account data (optional) — if you choose to sign in with Google to back up your progress or use social features, we receive your Google account ID, email address and public profile name from Google. We use this only to authenticate you and link your save data.
• Gameplay & multiplayer data — game state needed to run multiplayer matches, leaderboards, friend lists and clubs.
• Purchase data — if you make an in-app purchase, the purchase is processed by the Google Play Store. We only receive a confirmation token to unlock the corresponding content. We do not see or store your payment details.
• Device & technical data — basic technical information such as device type, OS version, language, crash logs and an advertising identifier (see Ads below). This is used to keep the game running and to diagnose issues.

3. Advertising (AdMob)

HexFlip shows optional rewarded video ads via Google AdMob. You only see an ad if you actively choose to watch one in exchange for an in-game reward. Google AdMob may collect and process the device's advertising identifier and other technical data in order to serve and measure ads. Google acts as an independent data controller for this processing.

In regions where it is required (such as the EEA, UK and Switzerland), we show a Google-certified consent message (UMP) before any personalized ads are loaded. You can change your consent choice at any time from the in-game settings.

4. How we use the data

• To run the game, save your progress and sync it across devices.
• To enable multiplayer, leaderboards, friends and clubs.
• To process in-app purchases and restore them on reinstall.
• To show optional rewarded ads and reward you for watching them.
• To diagnose crashes and improve game balance.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for any purpose unrelated to running HexFlip.

5. Sharing with third parties

We share data only with service providers that help us run the game:

• Google Play Billing — for in-app purchases.
• Google Sign-In — if you choose to log in with Google.
• Google AdMob & UMP — for rewarded ads and consent management.
• Hosting providers — to run our game servers and store your save data.

6. Data retention

Account and progress data are kept as long as your account is active. If you want your account and associated data deleted, send a request to rick.van.rooijen1993@gmail.com from the email address linked to your account, or use the in-game "Delete account" option if available. We will delete your data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to keep it (for example, purchase records for tax purposes).

7. Children's privacy

HexFlip is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/EEA or the UK GDPR) you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact rick.van.rooijen1993@gmail.com.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures (TLS in transit, hashed credentials, access control on our servers) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be announced inside the game.
